Obituary

Sara Ward Manning went to be with her loving savior on March 5th, 2020, at 3:33 p.m. She passed away in her home with family attending.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Manning; her brothers, Larry and Bluford (Betty Ann); sister, Louise (A.D.); and her parents Arthur and Iris Ward.

She is survived by her siblings, Lanelle Thomas, Sue Korchnak, Brenda McCann, and Mark Ward.

She was born on the family farm near Opp, Alabama, on May 14, 1929. The family later relocated to Allentown, Florida, where she met and married James L. Manning in 1948. They had seven children: James “Jimmy”, Dianne, Stanley (Michele) Burnison, Nancy (Mike) Hutto, Phillip, Tina (Bill, deceased) Lay, and Joseph “Joe” (Deborah). Together they had eighteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2020, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Hickory Hammock Baptist Church (8351 Hickory Hammock Road, Milton, FL 32583), with Pastor Carl Gallops officiating. Burial will follow services in Serenity Gardens Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers are Tyler Manning, Alan Manning, Silas Hobbs, Chris Lay, Andy Bell, and Brian Bell.

Honorable pallbearers are Amber Stokes, Dewitt Nobles, Brenda Pace, and Drexel Brock.

The family will happily receive flowers or you may make a donation to your local church or a charity of your choice.
