Obituary

Norman Ray Kelley, 69, of Pace, Florida, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019.

Born on January 10, 1950, to the late Norman H. Kelley and Gladys Pearline Kelley, Ray was the oldest son of eight children, a native of Chumuckla, Florida, and a graduate of Chumuckla High School. After high school, Ray spent two years in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He is a former Air Products employee with 24 years of service.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; older sister, Doris Needham; and his youngest son, Terry Lindon Kelley.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia Ann Lowery Kelley, and six siblings, his twin sister Jeanette (Sam) Lowery, Gene Kelley, Robert (Karla) Kelley, Sue (Randy) Holland, Diane (Bruce) Holland, and Jackie Kelley; he was a devoted father to children, Travis Kelley, Kathy (Preston) Blackmon, and Tony (Amanda) Kelley; proud grandfather to ten grandchildren, Ross (Jayme) Kelley, Dellany Kelley, Brianna Kelley, Blakeley Kelley, Dana Blackmon, Jamie Blackmon, Austin Kelley, Jakob Kelley, Wyatt Powell, and Carson Powell; and doting great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren, Addison, Ansley, Olivia, Bayleigh, Jaylyn, and Ryder. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ray was known for his infectious smile, quiet demeanor, unique sense of humor, and kind heart. He will always be remembered as a dedicated husband, caring “Paw Paw” and a forever friend.

Funeral services for Ray Kelley will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel, Pace Chapel, with Steve Zepp officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery in Chumuckla with Lewis Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2019, at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel, Pace Chapel.
