Obituary

Lucy Dee Enger, 80 years old, of Navarre, Florida, passed away peacefully, March 14, 2020. She was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lucy was born in Evergreen, Alabama, on September 17, 1939. She worked as a civilian employee with the United States Air Force for over 30 years. She was respected and well loved by everyone she met. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. We will miss her but are at peace knowing she is together again with our father, Dennis.

The love story between them started with a “bet”. Dennis bet Lucy a dime he could kiss her and never touch her. He leaned over and kissed her, she backed away and said, “You touched me”. He said, “Okay, here’s your dime”, admitting he lost the bet. They were married 56 years. Their love story continues in heaven now.

She is survived by her children, Tim (Poi), Suzanne and Gary; her grandchildren, Tricia (Zac), Taylor (Miguel), Payton, Kayla; her great-grandchildren, Emory, Leo, Pepe; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date. We will update this webpage when funeral services have been arranged. Lewis Funeral Home of Navarre has been entrusted with arrangements.
