Obituary

James Edsel Holland, 72, of Jay, Florida, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020, after a hard fight with cancer.

Edsel was born April 29, 1947, the son of the late Floyd and Gladys (Miller) Holland. He is a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a Heavy Repair Specialist. He retired from Gulf Atlantic Constructors after many years of working as a Foreman. He was a wonderful husband, father, and pawpaw. He loved his family and his lil' dog, Toot.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Max Holland and Johnny Holland; sister, Elaine Dechico; and daughter, Vickie Madden Baker.

Edsel is survived by his wife of 22 years, Polly; and his baby (lil' dog) Toot; five sons, Jonathan Holland, Timmy (Michelle) Lunsford, Gary Madden, Lee (Melissa) Madden, and Terry (Jeanette) Madden; son-in-law, Guy Baker; two daughters, Lori (Rusty) Lee and Emily (Chris) Burnham. He was blessed to have 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory a sister; Belinda Holland.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday February 23, 2020, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, Florida, with Pastor Anthony Mitchell and Pastor Pete Swanson officiating. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Burial will follow services at Walling Cemetery in Jay, Florida, with Lewis Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers are Timmy Lunsford, Jonathan Holland, Lee Madden, Chris Burnham, Brandon Chavers and Zach Burnham.
