Obituary

Robert “Bob” Snyder, age of 74, of Pace, Florida, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020.

Bob had a unique entry to life, as he was born in a taxi cab in NYC’s Central Park on June 21, 1945. He attended Cardinal Hayes High School and St. Francis College. He was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity and was recently awarded the St. Clare Medal for Distinguished Service. Bob was a Lieutenant in the Army and served in Viet Nam. He was a CPA and retired from the Navy Exchange Service in 2007. Bob was a member of Woodbine Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Katherine Snyder; and brother, Charlie Snyder. Like them, Bob was a lifelong NY Yankee fan.

Bob is survived by his wife, Cindy Snyder; his two sons, Jeffrey Snyder and David Snyder (Jen); his step-son, Christopher McDaniel (Mari); and eight grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Michael, Matthew, Gavin, Taryn, Kaylee (Ethan) and Skylet.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:45 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2020, at Woodbine Methodist Church, with Pastor Jimmy Allen officiating. Interment will follow services at Barrancas National Cemetery, onboard Pensacola Naval Airstation, with Lewis Funeral of Pace directing.

Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., for the family; and from 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. for friends, prior to the services on Friday, at Woodbine Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bob’s name to one of his favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; Wounded Warrior Project or Greyhound Pets of America/Emerald Coast.
