FD was born on November 17, 1931 in Chelsea, Alabama, to the late Alvis A. Kendrick and the late Addie G. Howard Kendrick. He was a longtime resident of Milton, moving there in 1962.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Carol Carden Kendrick; and his brothers, Boyd, Glen and Gordon.

He is survived by his son, Dennis (Shelly) of Columbus, Georgia; his grandchildren, Lucy "Tumble Bug" and Tori "Doodle Bug"; brother, M.L. CPO Kendrick served in the United States Navy from 1952 until his retirement in 1970. He owned and operated the Firestone store in Milton for several years until his second retirement in 1997. He was a life member of Santa Rosa Lodge #16, F&AM joining the fraternity in 1959.

FD enjoyed spending time in his woodworking shop making numerous side tables, stools, nicnaks and "tater" boxes.

Visitation will be held 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Milton, Florida.

The family respectfully declines the gift of flowers but suggests memorials to the Masonic Home of Florida (3201 1st Street NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33704, or www.masonichomefl.com) or random gifts of kindness in money and time to someone in need. FD was known for doing both.
