Obituary for Mary Catherine Bumagat

Mary Catherine Bumagat, 79, Gulf Breeze, FL, passed away, Sunday, Dec 16, 2018.

Mary was born December 15, 1939, in Dunbarton, Canada. She graduated nursing school and worked as a Registered Nurse until meeting and working for Dr. Ferdinand Bumagat, whom she married in 1969. Bill Fletcher, Mary’s eldest son, joined the Marines and moved to El Toro, California. Dr. Bumagat joined the Navy shortly after and was stationed at the same base so they could be close to their son. They spent the next 20 years moving from base to base in service to the country. During their tour in the Philippines they graciously adopted three daughters and rescued the girls from poverty and sickness. Annabel, Melody, and MaryBeth were all welcomed into the family and loved dearly.

Her husband, Dr. Ferdinand Bumagat, precedes Mary in death. She is survived by her four children William Fletcher of Navarre, FL; Annabel Morris of Valdosta, GA; Melody Forsman of Brunswick, GA; MaryBeth Moore of Gulf Breeze, FL; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2018 with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., at St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, Florida.

Private internment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date.
