Betty was a wonderful cook and when she made her pot of gumbo everyone wanted to come to dinner. Betty also was a crafter and loved to sew. She would make baby quilts, baby bonnets and pouty babies. Betty made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. She would teach her granddaughters how to sew during their summer breaks. Betty enjoyed collecting hand blown glass and scrapbooking. She was a Bunco Queen and loved playing card games. Betty was a member of the Ponca Tribe and was proud of her Indian heritage which included Chief Standing Bear.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Smith and Edith Storer; sons, Ronnie (Debbie) Blanton, Steve Blanton and Richard Blanton; and grandchildren, Jennifer Robinson, Guy Robinson and Kimberly Gooden.
